Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Hawaii
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Hawaii students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Hawaii State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Hawaii is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Hawaii, the student must hold an active, Hawaii RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
a. The Hawaii Board of Nursing requires documentation of graduation from a graduate level education program for the relevant specialization. Applicant must request their institution send a copy of the official transcript to the Hawaii Board of Nursing. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
b. Applicants seeking Prescriptive Authority in the state of Hawaii must demonstrate, within the three-year time period immediately preceding the date of application, Proof of 30 contact hours in advanced pharmacology education, including advanced pharmacotherapeutics, through an accredited college/university OR through continuing education hours from a Hawaii Board of Nursing approved recognized certifying body.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
