Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Delaware

Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Delaware students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.

Delaware State License Requirements:

a. RN License.

i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Delaware is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration; therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Delaware, the student must hold an active, unencumbered Delaware or Multi-State RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator.

b. APRN License Application Requirements

i. Education

1. Applicants must provide documentation of graduation from an accredited graduate level APRN program in the role and population focus congruent with the license. Applicants must request their institution send a copy of the official transcript to the DE BON. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
2. Applicants applying for APRN licensure in Delaware must meet one of these requirements in the role and population focus for which you are applying:
a. Practiced in the specialty of either 600 hours over the past two years or 1,500 hours over the past five years, OR
b. Graduated from the specialty program within the past two years.

ii. Certification:

This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.

iii. Requirements beyond Education Program:

Applicants applying for Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) must show evidence of having completed the one-hour Mandatory Training Course on Delaware law, regulation and programs on prescribing and distribution of controlled substances.
