Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Colorado
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Colorado students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Colorado State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Colorado is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Colorado, the student must hold an active, multi-state RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator.
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
Applicants must provide documentation of graduation from a graduate or post-graduate nursing degree program for the relevant specialization. Transcripts must be submitted by the educational institution to the Colorado Board of Nursing. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.

Liberty University School of Nursing students are approved for practicum in the State of Colorado.
b. Are there any specific requirements to consider when completing practicum in Colorado?
i. Students completing practicum in the State of Colorado must hold a Colorado Registered Nurse License, or a Multi-State RN License.
ii. Students in clinical practicum must be covered by a worker’s compensation policy. Please check the Colorado Department of Labor for regulations concerning students participating in clinical placements.
