Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Arkansas

Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Arkansas students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.

Arkansas State License Requirements:

a. RN License.

i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Arkansas is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Arkansas, the student must hold an active, multi-state RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing  Online Student Support Coordinator.

b. APRN License Application Requirements

i. Education
1. The Arkansas Board of Nursing requires official transcripts from a Masters or higher degree program for the specialty. Transcripts must be submitted to the Board in a sealed envelope, or through email, from the educational program. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
2. Applicants seeking an initial certificate of prescriptive authority must provide transcripts which reflect 3 graduate credit hours of pharmacology, included as part of an advanced practice nursing education program, within five (5) years immediately prior to the date of application to the Board.

ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
