Family Nurse Practitioner – North Carolina
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of North Carolina students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
North Carolina State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. North Carolina is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of North Carolina, the student must hold an active, North Carolina or Multi-State RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
The North Carolina Board of Nursing requires completion of a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or related field with a primary focus on Nursing and a nationally accredited graduate level Nurse Practitioner education program. Transcripts must be submitted to the Board from the educational program. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
