Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Tennessee
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Tennessee students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Tennessee State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Tennessee is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Tennessee, the student must hold an active, Tennessee or Multi-State RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
a. The Tennessee Board of Nursing requests an official electronic transcript indicating a conferred advanced nursing degree to be sent by the educational institution to: Nursing.Health@tn.gov. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
b. Applicants seeking a Certificate of Fitness to Prescribe must show preparation in specialized practitioner skills at the master’s, post-master’s, doctoral, or post-doctoral level, including, but not limited to, at least three (3) quarter hours of pharmacology instruction or its equivalent. Liberty Meets this requirement.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
