Winterfest 2013: Rock in the New Year

September 20, 2013

Guests are invited to rock in the New Year, ears ringing with some of the most electrifying tunes in Christian music, at Liberty University’s annual Winterfest, the largest Christian New Year’s party in the region, Dec. 30-31.

Winterfest, now in its 12th year, fuels more than just the adventure spirit, it encourages guests to grow in their faith as well — including challenging speakers and engaging group sessions.

In addition, guests will be exposed to all that Liberty has to offer across its expansive campus. Recreational amenities include indoor sports, rock climbing, swimming, ice skating, and extreme winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, the university’s year-round snowless ski slope.

On Dec. 30 crowds inside Liberty’s Vines Center will jam with several artists, including Skillet and Tenth Avenue North. Guests will hear from, and party with, the teens from A&E’s “Duck Dynasty.” Renowned speaker and Liberty Campus Pastor Clayton King will share an evangelistic message.

As the New Year approaches on Dec. 31, action on the Vines stage will continue to intensify with Audio Adrenaline (fronted by LU alumnus Kevin Max), Building 429, and Third Day. King will deliver another powerful message and prominent Christian speaker and spoken-word poet Jeff Bethke will also take the stage.

New this year is a chance for the winner of a Winterfest Battle of the Bands competition in November to take the main stage.
