Steel framework was completed in August, and crews have begun working on the roof deck. The 60,000-square-foot project is on schedule to open next August. It will feature academic offices, tutoring centers, and study halls, as well as an Olympic sport weight room and space for short- and long-term rehabilitation of NCAA Division I student-athletes.

Football Indoor Practice Facility

Construction progresses on Liberty University's indoor football practice facility.

Towering above the nearby Football Operations Center and nearly as tall as the Williams Stadium Tower itself, the massive building has quickly become a dominant structure at the north end of campus. The first steel columns went up in late August. The $20 million structure is on schedule to be completed in May.

Cook Tennis Center/Soccer Fields

Two new practice soccer fields are next to Liberty's tennis facility, which is being upgraded.

Six new courts and new elevated grandstands were recently added to the Cook Tennis Center, bringing the total number of courts to 18. The courts are located beside two new practice fields already being heavily used by Liberty’s men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Indoor Track & Field Center/Natatorium

Construction progresses on Liberty University's indoor track and natatorium facility.

Roof and masonry work continues on the 169,000-square-foot complex below the LU Monogram on Liberty Mountain. Plans call for the facility to be completed in time for the indoor track & field events of the 2016 Commonwealth Games Dec. 2-4. Land has been cleared for work to begin on the 75,000-square-foot natatorium that will connect to the track complex. That project is expected to be completed by the middle of next summer.
