History professor’s gift will provide for the future

September 28, 2015

As longtime supporters of Liberty University, retired history professor Dr. Cline Hall and his wife, Beverly, knew they wanted to play a role in the university’s future.

“Having taught in the history department for 34 years, it was a life-changing experience to guide many students in their studies as well as expose them to the Christian view of history,” Cline Hall said. “Liberty is worthy of our support, and our gift through life insurance will help continue Liberty’s mission.”

The couple’s gift will leave the school more than $1.1 million to benefit the Department of History and advance the mission of the university.

Cline Hall said taking out a life insurance policy was “one of the easiest ways to make a major impact on the school’s future.”

The Halls are two of many Liberty faculty and staff who have decided to give back to the place where they have spent countless hours training Champions for Christ. To achieve their goal of leaving a lasting legacy at Liberty, the Halls worked with Liberty’s Planned Giving Department, which offers several options for investing in the future of Liberty.

“We have seen many changes on campus since we arrived in 1977,” Beverly Hall said. “The campus through the years has blossomed, and we are thankful to be supporters even after we are in Heaven.”
