For the fourth consecutive year, the Liberty University Office of Development and Alumni Relations has sponsored the Green Cord campaign, asking graduates to contribute $20 or more to help fund scholarships for future Champions for Christ.
In recognition of their generosity, graduates were provided a green cord to wear with their Commencement regalia. Those who made a $40 donation received a green cord and a Liberty University blanket in appreciation for their gift.
Vice President of Development Chris Carroll said that the program is a great way for graduates, most of whom were scholarship recipients themselves, to pay it forward to others coming along behind them.
“I am thrilled at the level of participation in this year’s Green Cord campaign,” Carroll said. “Thanks to the giving hearts of our graduates, we anticipate being able to make more than $100,000 in scholarship funds available to Liberty students next year.”
