A number of political figures visited campus, encouraging students to participate in government, keep representatives accountable, and ask questions. Guests included U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III, U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge G. Steven Agee, Former Clinton White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry, former Bush White House Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the Public Liaison Office Tim Goeglein, and former Trump Deputy Campaign Manager David Bossie. Former U.S. Rep. and current CLG Executive Director Robert Hurt moderated the discussions. An exhibit at the Jerry Falwell Library featured an exact replica of the National Archives’ presentation of America’s Charters of Freedom. The week culminated on Sept. 22 with a Convocation featuring Sen. Scott and Rep. Gowdy.
