The Christmas BlogDecember 11, 2012
If you haven’t already heard, Christmas is a BIG DEAL at Liberty. There’s a huge Christmas tree lit up in front of DeMoss Hall and lights on all of the trees as you drive along University Blvd. You can’t come to campus and not instantly feel the spirit of Christmas! This past week I have been celebrating Christmas with all of the different events going on!
On Tuesday I had an ugly sweater/white elephant Christmas party with my amazing Life Group. We had lots of food, opened really funny presents, and just enjoyed building community together. The best part of the entire night was captured in one photo! Jake decided to use the silly string he got on Caleb right as the picture was snapped! Pay close attention to my hilarious facial expression!
On Wednesday night, I had the opportunity to enjoy the Virginia Christmas Spectacular at Thomas Road Baptist Church! Every year they have a living Christmas tree choir and they put on an incredible show. Thankfully they have student night where students could bring a can of food and $1 which is donated to the community!
On Thursday morning, we had Christmas Convocation. This event is something that no student wants to miss. The whole convo is a parody of everything that happened in convocation that semester. The campus praise band puts a lot of hard work into making it a hilarious event! It's just a great way to start your morning on reading day!
On Friday night, we got to enjoy Christmas Coffeehouse again! When I first came to Liberty I was so confused as to what Coffeehouse was but I was reassured by everyone to just buy a ticket and go! Coffeehouse is basically a huge talent show in the Vines with musical acts, dancing acts, and videos made by students! I am always blown away at the amount of talent out university has. My favorite act for the night was a mash up of the song Baby (by Justin Bieber) and Baby It's Cold Outside! Check out the video below!
