Top Reasons you will love Liberty
Liberty was established on Christian principles, and faith is more than just a footnote in the university’s history. The Graduate School is part of the largest Christian university in the world and has been growing with intention and boldness, while building a foundation for sustainable achievement and a proud legacy for more than forty years. Regardless of your academic and career field, we believe that your faith is an anchor point which will help you succeed.
All of our graduate faculty members hold terminal degrees, and many are considered experts in their field. Dr. Gary Habermas, distinguished author and Chair of the Department of Philosophy, is well-known for his research on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Before coming to Liberty, communication professor Dr. Stuart Schwartz was an executive with Lee Enterprises, an apparel merchandiser for Steve Madden, and worked in business development for a 150-store retail music chain. Such experiences allow our faculty members to enrich students’ lives with knowledge from a variety of fields.
In addition to our exceptional faculty, world-renowned speakers, such as author Gary Chapman, former presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy, and American business magnate Donald Trump visit campus every week to interact with students and discuss faith, business, politics, and current events.
Living in the Heart of Virginia
Our graduate students attend classes on Liberty’s more than 7,000-acre campus in the foothills of Central Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. This campus is home to over 12,500 resident students, while another 80,000 study online. Lynchburg is located within a few hours of Washington, D.C., Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte, N.C., so you can explore the natural beauty of the mountains or visit one of these metro areas.
