A Perfectly Thoughtful Wedding

November 07, 2015

Today we were honored to help in celebrating the marriage of Adam & Morgan Pate (their last name is Pate and they were married at the Old Pate Chapel, how perfect!).  As the pieces started coming together, it was obvious that Morgan and Adam had put their own personal touch on the wedding and thought through each little piece together.  From Adam's signature BBQ sauce favors, to etched monogrammed lanterns, Adam and Morgan thought of everything!  The pictures below capture just a few of our favorite pieces.

A beautiful wooden cross created by the Father of the Bride set the perfect backdrop for the ceremony in the Old Pate Chapel.

I love the etched glass monogrammed lanterns! The perfect personal touch!

The graphic design artist groom designed many of the elements for their big day, including these fun programs.

My favorite part of the bridal party apparel? Of course it's these awesome tie clips!

It's always a big decision selecting wedding favors.  The best are something practical and also fun that your wedding guests can enjoy.  These cute mason jar glasses were perfect for sweet tea and lemonade at the reception and the wedding guests can enjoy the memories when using them at home.

Also on the favor list is the groom's homemade BBQ sauce!

Adam and Morgan added a few more special touches to help share their love story with their wedding guests.  This is a great idea since everyone may not know all of the important details.

Love this embroidered wedding date, specially made by the Mother-of-the-Bride (their linen for their sweetheart table featured the same special embroidery).

To welcome guests into their reception, Morgan and Adam had a delicious hot cocoa bar to enjoy before they got to enjoy the even more delicious wedding cake (created by Angela Hudson Cakes).

To add to the charm of the table decor, they had glitzy flutes for the bridal party, cards for a creative and meaningful "guest book", and a personal "Thank you" to their wedding guests.

And to top off the perfect evening, they had Flashback, a live band, bring an awesome night of entertainment! The crowd was on the dance floor all night long!

Discover Weddings at LU

Welcome to our website and blog! Thank you for stopping by! Some of you may be wondering, “What is Weddings at LU?”  In short, Weddings at LU represents all of Liberty University’s wedding venues and our wonderful weddings support team.  Whether you are looking for the perfect chapel, or looking for a reception venue to dance the night away, we invite you to explore our venues.

701 Thomas Road is comprised of the Old Pate Chapel & Bottling Co. Reception Hall.  The Old Pate Chapel, renovated in March 2013, features cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows for a breathtakingly elegant ceremony. And who can ignore the dramatic backdrop of the tall, white columns at the Chapel’s entrance?!

The Bottling Co. Reception Hall, right next door to the Old Pate Chapel, was renovated and opened in April 2014.  With beautiful hardwood floors, two fireplaces, a built-in sound system, and chic gold chiavari chairs, the Bottling Co. is the perfect venue to celebrate a new life together!

Are you looking for a smaller, more intimate setting? The Worley Prayer Chapel, located at the heart of LU’s campus, is just for you!  Recently renovated, it features a beautiful vaulted ceiling and the original Chapel pews.

After the ceremony, enjoy a beautifully simple reception under the trees on the Grounds at Montview Mansion.
