Special Education (36 Hours): Early Childhood Special Education – Colorado
Educational Requirements
According to the Colorado Department of Education:
The state of Colorado offers the following endorsements.

Colorado offers Early Childhood Special Education Specialist (Ages 0-8).
Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)
- Students will be required to pass Praxis 5205 with a cut score of 159, and Praxis 5024 with a cut score of 160.
Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)
- Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
- Students will need to obtain their Virginia license first to qualify for reciprocity.
- Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to apply for Virginia licensure.
- After obtaining a Virginia license students can then apply for an Colorado license through reciprocity.
Reciprocity
Per Colorado State Board of Education rule 1 CCR 301-37 2.03(3), individuals who complete endorsement or degree programs outside Colorado must hold or qualify to hold the associated license/endorsement in the state of preparation in order for Colorado to recognize that program. Individuals also will need to meet any other Colorado licensure and endorsement requirements.
