Family & Consumer Sciences Education 6-12 (36 Hours) – Arkansas

Educational Requirements

According to the Arkansas Department of Education,

The state of Arkansas offers the following endorsements.

Arkansas offers Family and Consumer Sciences (7-12).
Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)
  1. Students will be required to take the free 14 clock hour Awareness Level of Reading Course through IDEAS online. 
Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)
  1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
  2. Students will need to obtain their Virginia license first to qualify for reciprocity. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to apply for Virginia licensure.
  3. After obtaining a Virginia license and completing additional training and coursework students can then apply for an Arkansas license through reciprocity.
Reciprocity

Reciprocity means the recognition of a teaching license from another state or country based on the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) licensure rules and/or the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement for Educator Licensure.

Licensure in another state or country does not mean licensure in Arkansas will automatically be granted. The type of license must be evaluated. Ancillary requirements may apply.
