Child & Family – Michigan
LU’s BSSW program offers all the courses and internships necessary to meet education requirements for licensure in Michigan* for any of the following credentials. Students are encouraged to meet with their gate advisor by contacting bssw@liberty.edu for course selection and sequencing information to ensure they will meet the requirements for their specific license of choice.

Limited Bachelor Social Worker (L-LBSW)
- Exam Requirement: No exam required.
- Post-Degree Supervised Experience Requirement: No post-degree supervised experience required before licensure.

Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW)
- Exam Requirement: The candidate must pass an ASWB exam for the appropriate licensure level.
- Post-Degree Supervised Experience Requirement: In a period of no less than two (2) years, the candidate must have completed at least 4,000 hours of post-degree experience in social work under the supervision of a licensed master’s social worker (LMSW). This must be concurrent with a minimum rate of four (4) hours of direct supervision per month, of which at least two (2) hours per month must be individual.
