School Counselor
Ohio requires that applicants for this licensure have
- A master’s degree and successful completion of an internship consisting of six hundred contact hours in a school setting
- Documentation of program completion from university
- A passing score on the Ohio Assessment for Educators #040
- Completion of a BCI/FBI background check
Additional Requirements
Per the Ohio Department of Education, students trained at Liberty University must meet the qualifications for being licensed in Virginia. After completing those qualification, a letter of eligibility will allow the student’s file to be reviewed for licensure in Ohio. While the student may choose the Ohio Educator’s Assessment (040) administered by Pearson, this is not necessary as the student will take the assessment required by Virginia.
