Educational Requirements
According to the New York Department of Education:
The state of New York offers the following endorsements.

New York offers Childhood Education (1-6) and Middle Grade Science (5-9).

New York offers Childhood Education (1-6) and Middle Grade Mathematics (5-9).

New York offers Childhood Education (1-6) and Middle Grade Social Studies (5-9).

New York offers Childhood Education (1-6) and Middle Grade Social Studies (5-9).
Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)

- Students will be required to complete the 2-hour online self-study School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop.
- Students will be required to complete the 2-hour online self-study Child Abuse Identification Workshop.
- Students will be required to complete the 6-hour online self-study Dignity for All Students (DASA) Workshop.

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

- Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
- Students will need to obtain their Virginia license first to qualify for reciprocity.
- Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to apply for Virginia licensure.
- After obtaining a Virginia license students can then apply for a New York license through reciprocity.
Reciprocity
The Office of Teaching Initiatives can not determine eligibility for certification until an application has been submitted, and a review of your credentials has been completed.
New York State does not pre-approve educator preparation programs completed in other U.S. States or Territories.
