Educational Requirements
According to the Kansas Department of Education:
The state of Kansas offers the following endorsements.
Kansas offers Building Leadership (Principal) Endorsement.
Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)
- Students will need to provide evidence of 5 years of teaching experience as a licensed teacher in a program of Early Childhood Education, Kindergarten or Grades 1-12.
- Students must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average in graduate coursework.
Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)
- Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
- Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Administration and Supervision Endorsement to the Virginia license.
- After obtaining a Virginia license with the Administration and Supervision Add-On, students can then apply for a Kansas license through reciprocity.
Reciprocity
Regulations provide a number of licensing options to guarantee access to start teaching to all applicants who hold a valid full or standard out-of-state license or certificate issued after the successful completion of a state approved preparation program. It is critical to provide all requested documentation. If additional documentation is required, you will be notified in writing. Information for future renewing or upgrading of the Kansas license will be printed on the license and included on information sheets provided with the license.
