Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)
- Students will be required to complete 200 preservice practicum hours.
- At Gate 2, students will sign an acknowledgement statement that they have viewed the Kentucky Code of Ethics.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2.75 GPA at Gate 2, and a 3.0 GPA by Gate 3.
- Before Gate 3, students will need to pass additional content area exams (GRE, ACT or Praxis CORE/CACE) with passing cut scores.
Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)
- Please submit all licensure documents (located in the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
- Gate 4 will send a program completion confirmation to soekycandidates@liberty.ed to be exited out to the EPSB/KECS system.
Reciprocity
Candidates who completed an approved educator preparation program outside of Kentucky may obtain a teaching certificate by meeting requirements outlined in 16 KAR 4:030.
Out-of-state applicants must have completed a state approved teacher preparation program at a regionally accredited educator preparation institution or a state-approved alternative training program. In addition, candidates must comply with the state ancillary requirements such as GPA, testing and internship.
