  • This program will be closing effective July 1, 2024. We recommend the student enrolls in the new MAT: Secondary Education cognate specific program.

The state of Kansas offers the following endorsements.

  • Biology (6-12)
  • Business (6-12)
  • Chemistry (6-12)
  • English Language Arts (6-12)
  • Family and Consumer Science (6-12)
  • Health and Physical Education: Health (PreK-12) and Physical Education (PreK-12)
  • Mathematics (6-12)
  • Music: Voice (Pre-K-12)
  • Music: Instrumental (Pre-K -12)
  • Physics (6-12)
  • Physics Education: Earth and Space Science (6-12)
  • Social Studies: History, Government, and Social Studies (6-12)
  • TESL (ESOL) (PK-12)
  • Theater Art: Speech/Theater (6-12)
  • Visual Art (Art) (PK-12)

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

  1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
  2. Students will need to obtain their Virginia license first to qualify for reciprocity.
  3. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to apply for Virginia licensure. 
  4. After obtaining a Virginia license, students can then apply for a Kansas license through reciprocity. 

Reciprocity

Regulations provide a number of licensing options to guarantee access to start teaching to all applicants who hold a valid full or standard out-of-state license or certificate issued after the successful completion of a state approved preparation program. It is critical to provide all requested documentation. If additional documentation is required, you will be notified in writing. Information for future renewing or upgrading of the Kansas license will be printed on the license and included on information sheets provided with the license.
