Earth Science Education – Missouri

Educational Requirements

According to Missouri’s Department of Education:

The state of Missouri offers the following endorsements. 

  • Missouri offers Earth Sciences 9-12. To add areas of certification to an existing professional or lifetime Missouri teaching certificate, candidates only need to take the additional Praxis Assessment 5572 – Earth and Space Sciences. (Cannot verify the courses or hours needed through the coursework completion path)

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

  1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
  2. Students will need to obtain their Virginia license first to qualify for reciprocity.
  3. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to apply for Virginia licensure. 
  4. After obtaining a Virginia license students can then apply for a Missouri license through reciprocity. 

Reciprocity

An individual with a valid certificate from another state can be granted a comparable certificate in Missouri. Verification of certification from the other state must be provided. Depending on the number of previous years of teaching experience, the individual may qualify for an initial or career certificate.
