Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Idaho requires that applicants for this licensure have COAMFTE-aligned additional Marriage and Family Studies, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Human Development classes that Liberty University does not offer.

Idaho requires that applicants for this licensure have either a master’s degree accredited by COAMFTE, or a master’s degree with 60 hours with the following courses:

• 3 courses in family studies
• 3 courses in marriage and family practice
• 3 courses on health across lifespan
• 2 courses in psychology/mental health
• 1 course in ethics
• 1 course in research
• 1 practicum
