Marriage & Family Therapy – Arkansas
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Arkansas requires that applicants for this licensure have a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy or related field from a regionally accredited institution. The graduate semester hours must meet or exceed the national academic and training content standards adopted by the Board or the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
Applicants must have 500 clinical hours (over 1-year time-period) with individuals, couples, and families, at least 40% of which must be relational.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must take a required “1-hour minimum course on the use of Technology-Assisted Counseling.” Applicants must also meet clinical hour requirements and stipulations (see above).
