Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Texas requires that applicants for this licensure have a graduate degree in counseling (or related field) from an accredited university/college, pass the National Counseling Exam or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam, and complete the Texas LPC Jurisprudence Exam.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must take the Texas Jurisprudence Exam prior to applying for license. The exam must be completed no earlier than six months prior to submission of an application. Upon completion of the exam, you will be issued a certificate.
