Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)
- Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
- Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Gifted Education Endorsement to the Virginia license.
- After obtaining a Virginia license with the Gifted Education Add-On, students can then apply for a Ohio license through reciprocity.
Reciprocity
Candidates who completed an out-of-state licensure program should review the information on this page regarding Ohio’s licensure requirements and the online application process. Candidates must submit the online application and all required documentation in order to begin the evaluation process and determine eligibility for an Ohio license. Please review all the steps of the licensure process and other useful information regarding the online application system on the Educator Licensure Process webpage.
Licensure candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and have completed an approved, traditional teacher preparation program through an accredited college or university. Candidates who do not qualify for the following licensure types may consider the Ohio Alternative Resident Educator licensure pathway or contact an accredited college or university with an Ohio Department of Higher Education approved educator preparation program.
