Educational Requirements

According to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education:

District of Columbia offers the following endorsements.

District of Columbia offers Early Childhood (PreK-3). 

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu. 
2. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Early Childhood Education endorsement to the Virginia license. 
3. After obtaining a Virginia license with the Early Childhood Education Add-on, students can then apply for a District of Columbia license through reciprocity.

Reciprocity

Applicants for a District of Columbia educator credential who hold an active full credential or license issued in another US state or territory may qualify for issuance of a DC credential based upon reciprocity. Reciprocity may only be applied during the applicant’s first application for a DC educator credential. Any subsequent issuances of DC educator credentials must be based upon satisfactory completion of District of Columbia-specific requirements.
