Educational Requirements

According to the Alabama Department of Education:

The state of Alabama offers the following endorsements:

• Early Childhood Development (Birth – Age 4)

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu. 
2. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Early Childhood endorsement to the Virginia license.
3. After obtaining a Virginia license with the Early Childhood Add-On, students can then apply for an Alabama Professional Educator Certification through reciprocity.

Reciprocity 

Individuals who hold a valid professional educator certificate issued by another state, the District of Columbia, a United States Territory, or the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) may wish to apply for Alabama certification through Certificate Reciprocity. Along with holding a valid professional educator certificate, other ancillary requirements (background clearance, experience, etc.) must be met.
