Administration & Supervision: Educational Leadership – Utah

Educational Requirements

According to the Utah State Board of Education:

The state of Utah offers the following endorsements.

  • Utah offers a School Principal endorsement, a Vice Principal endorsement, and an Assistant Principal endorsement. 

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

  1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu. 
  2. Students will be required to pass a Praxis exam. 
  3. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Administration and Supervision endorsement to Virginia licensure.
  4. After obtaining a Virginia license with the Administration and Supervision Add-On, students can then apply for a Utah license through reciprocity.

Reciprocity

Utah does not offer reciprocity with any state. In most cases, educators who hold a professional license in another state will be granted the nearest equivalent license. Every candidate will need to complete an application and follow the steps located in the License Equivalency Review Application Checklist.  The Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact allows teachers with professional level licenses in other Compact states to obtain a Utah license without completing additional requirements.
