Educational Requirements

According to the Louisiana Department of Education: 

The state of Louisiana offers the following endorsements.

Louisiana offers a Principal endorsement.

Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)

1. Students will need to hold or be eligible to hold a Louisiana Type B or Level 2 teaching certificate or have a comparable level out-of-state teaching certificate. 

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
2. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Administration and Supervision endorsement to the Virginia licensure. 
3. After obtaining a Virginia license with the Administration and Supervision Add-On, students can then apply for a Louisiana license through reciprocity. 

Reciprocity

If you are certified to teach in another state or country you must follow the guidelines of the Out-of-State (OS) Application Packet for certification in Louisiana. The OS certificate is valid for three years; you will have that time to fulfill Praxis exam requirements in order to move to the renewable Level teaching certificate.
