Administration & Supervision: Educational Leadership – New Jersey

Educational Requirements

According to the New Jersey Department of Education:

The state of New Jersey offers the following endorsements.

• New Jersey offers Principal (0200) Certificate of Eligibility.

Additional Requirements (During Degree Program)

1. Students will be required to provide evidence of five years of successful educational experience under a valid provisional or standard New Jersey or equivalent out-of-state certificate. 
2. Students will be required to complete a 300 hour internship. 

Additional Requirements (After Degree Conferral)

1. Please submit all licensure documents (located on the Gate 4 Checklist) to gate4@liberty.edu.
2. Gate 4 will complete a College Verification Form which will be used to add on the Administration and Supervision endorsement to the Virginia license. 
3. Students will be required to pass additional content area exams required by New Jersey. 
4. After obtaining a Virginia license with the Administration and Supervision Add-On, students can then apply for a New Jersey license through reciprocity. 

Reciprocity

Educators from other states seeking New Jersey certification via reciprocity must hold the equivalent type and subject area/grade level out-of-state license.
