Addiction Counseling – West Virginia

Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC)

West Virginia requires that applicants for this licensure have a master’s degree in a behavioral science field with a clinical application, including 300 clock hours of education with 180 hours being addiction specific education with 6 hours of 180 addiction specific ethics.

Liberty’s CEFS 501 course will suffice the ethics requirement for an applicant with a degree in the field interested in applying for ADC or AADC. The board required work experience must begin after attaining the master’s degree. One year (2000 hours) is required.
