Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)

Ohio requires that applicants for this licensure have a master’s degree or higher degree in behavioral sciences.

Course Requirements

• Counseling theories (forty clock hours)
• Individual and group counseling procedures (eighty clock hours with a minimum of twenty clock hours in individual counseling and twenty clock hours in group counseling)
• Fundamentals of assessment and diagnosis and psychopathology (ninety clock hours)
• Cultural humility (thirty clock hours)
• Ethics (thirty clock hours)
