Masters Addiction Counselor (LMAC)
Kansas requires that applicants for this licensure have a master’s degree in addiction counseling.

- Addiction Recovery Services
- Advanced Methods of Individual and Group Counseling
- Advanced Pharmacology and Substance Use Disorders
- Integrative Treatment of Co-Occurring Disorders
- Assessment and Diagnosis
- Professional Ethics and Practice
- Applied Research
- Practicum or its Equivalent: Must include at least 300 hours of direct client contact.
- Additional Courses (Minimum of 6 semester credit hours required.) Which shall include six additional graduate semester hours of academic coursework that contributes to the development of advanced knowledge or skills in addiction counseling, supervision, or research.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must take ADCN 606 Pharmacology of Addiction and Recovery to fulfill coursework requirements, along with two semesters of internship that include a minimum of 300 hours of direct client contact.
