Request a New Organization
Students may request CSER eligibility at new churches and non-profits by submitting them to LU Serve for approval. These organizations must be consistent with the mission and values of Liberty University and must be nonprofits with a verifiable 501(c)(3) status, a civic organization, or a local school.
To request a new organization, follow these additional steps:
1) Review the Student Policy Handbook.
2) Ensure that someone at the church or non-profit, preferably a staff member, can serve as your supervisor.
3) Log into your CSER Dashboard.
4) Click on “Register for CSER.”
5) Select the semester for which you must register (when you complete the CSER, not necessarily when you need the credit applied).
6) Use the search boxes and filters to find organizations. When you are ready, click “Search.”
7) If you do not see your organization listed, click “Add New Organization” below the search results.
8) Fill out the information form and click “Add Organization.”
9) Ensure your registration information is correct and click the check box to acknowledge the CSER policies.
10) Sign the form and click “Submit for Approval.”
After you submit your registration, your supervisor will receive an e-mail within 24 hours letting them know that you have asked them to take the next step in your registration.
Drop a CSER
1) Log into your CSER Dashboard.
2) Select the unwanted CSER or click on “View Past CSER” to select the one you wish to drop.
3) Click on “Drop Registration.”
When you submit your drop application you will receive a confirmation code and e-mail. Your supervisor will also receive an e-mail within 24 hours letting him know that you have requested for him to take the final step in dropping your registration. Once the drop is approved by your supervisor, it will be removed from your course schedule.
Submit an Evaluation
1) Log into your CSER Dashboard.
2) Click on your current CSER or “View Past CSER.”
3) Select the correct semester and click on “Log Time.”
4) Log your hours accurately to when you completed them. For example, if you served four hours with your church on a Sunday, you would input the date, log four hours for that day, and submit the time log. Continue this process until you have logged at least 20 hours.
5) Once you have finished logging at least 20 hours, click “Fill Out Evaluation” and complete the questionnaire.
6) Click on “Complete Evaluation.” Your supervisor will complete your evaluation and assign a grade. Upon completion, you may visit your CSER Dashboard to review your supervisor’s comments. If you have any questions about your evaluation form, contact your supervisor for clarification.
