Liberty University Online graduate student Jennifer Helton has recently been named President and CEO of Ralph Scott Lifeservices, Inc. in Burlington, NC.
Ralph Scott Lifeservices, Inc. is a human service agency that supports individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the Alamance/Caswell/Rockingham community.
Helton began her career with the organization in 1998 as an entry-level administrator. Helton’s role has changed over the years and in her new position, she is committed to the sustainability of the organization and the quality of services provided.
“This job is a choice and a passion,” Helton said. “It is about people, not only the people we support, but also our staff and their families.”
Helton is currently in the process of completing a Master of Arts in Human Services from Liberty University Online. Motivated by her husband’s positive experience, as he began pursuing his degree in religion, Helton also decided to earn her graduate degree through Liberty Online.
“He doesn’t like school, never has, but he was able to do it online,” Helton said. “I am thankful for how God has worked in our life to make this opportunity for me to return and finish my master’s degree.”
The impact of Liberty University has gone far beyond Helton and her family. While impacting their lives, Liberty has also reached through her husband’s ministry. Every year, Helton’s husband travels with their church’s youth group to attend Liberty’s annual Winterfest.
“I can’t remember the last time I spent a New Year’s with him here in North Carolina,” Helton said.
Helton will return to Liberty’s program this fall and hopes to complete her degree by next year.
