As one of America’s top military-friendly schools, Liberty University dedicates a week each year to recognize and inspire support for the members of our Armed Forces. This year, Military Emphasis Week is being held Nov. 6-12.
“Liberty University makes a point to show our appreciation for our veterans and servicemembers every day through our support offices, student groups and university military benefits, but we want to stop and pay special honor to them during this week,” said Emily Foutz, Liberty’s Director of Military Affairs.
The schedule includes a special Military Emphasis Week convocation, with Vietnam War veteran and evangelist Tim Lee.
Lee, who lost both of his legs in 1971 during the Vietnam War, views his disability not as a tragedy, but as an opportunity to share God’s love through his evangelical ministry.
In addition to these events, military recruiters, student military support groups, the National Guard Racecar, and a Marine Corps Hummer will be present at various times throughout the week.
