Vote for LU student finalist in Higher One Contest
September 28, 2009 |
Rev. Timothy Walker, 49, of Indianapolis, Ind., is a Liberty University Online student working on his master’s degree in Religious Education.
In August, Walker received an email from HigherOne, the online banking company Liberty partners with for processing student IDs and refunds, about a contest they were sponsoring. Participants were challenged to create a commercial promoting the benefits of using HigherOne. The first-place winner would receive $500.
Walker created a submission he called “Refund Magic” in about 15 minutes and sent it off. The commercial features a magic trick — changing a check into a dollar bill and making a HigherOne card appear. In about a week, Walker received an email from HigherOne informing him that he was one of three finalists.
Walker said he has always been interested in magic and after more than 20 years of “living a wild life,” he rededicated his life to the Lord and is currently using magic as a ministry tool.
Walker’s submission is posted on YouTube along with the other two finalists. After you watch it, sign in with your YouTube account and vote for Walker’s video by rating it with five stars. By viewing the his video and voting for it, you can help Walker win the Higher One contest.
