This class will explore various approaches to establishing a viable evangelism strategy for the local church. A special emphasis is placed on biblical principles, evangelism planning, contemporary spiritual movements, and multiplication as the core value.
DMIN 810, Admission to DMIN program
Understanding the impact and principles of evangelism planning through the local church is a lost art. According to Scripture, however, there are biblical principles related to the mobilization of the church into the harvest. This course will expose some of the misunderstandings related to evangelism, as well as point out the biblical essentials to developing a healthy strategy for spiritual growth and multiplication of disciples.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the essential principles related to strategic planning.
- Identify contemporary/practical/theological issues that impact strategic planning.
- Examine the different historical/practical and theological viewpoints related to the process of strategic planning in evangelism.
- Assess methodologies related to strategic planning in evangelism from a biblical/practical perspective.

Reflective Discussion Board Forums (3)
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 400 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 150 words.
Book Critiques (2)
The student will write 2 book reviews on books of his or her choosing from the Required Resource section above. For each Book Critique, the student will write a 1,000–1,200-word, well-written paper in current Turabian format that meets the requirements in the Book Critique Instructions.
The student is required to submit a 3,100-4,100-word bibliography sketch in preparation for the Strategic Evangelism Plan for a Local Church. This sketch will include an anticipated thesis statement and a bibliography of at least 20 related works. This bibliography sketch must contain at least 5 books and 5 articles related directly to the anticipated thesis, and may contain no more than 5 Internet sources. Any website used must have a direct, unique, and relevant bearing on the specific paper or research and how it will be utilized. Strategic Evangelism Plan for a Local Church
The student will submit a 15–20-page paper designing a strategic local church evangelism plan. The paper must establish a biblical and historical foundation for local church evangelism as well as develop a practical strategic plan for mobilizing a local church in evangelism locally and globally. In its final form, this will be a 15–20-page paper with at least 15 sources from 2005 and later. The paper must adhere to current Turabian formatting.
