Course Description

A study of the process of data-based decision making including data collection, analysis and interpretation. Topics will include information gathering, research design and methods, data analysis software, and the use of statistics to analyze and interpret information.

Rationale

This course provides upper division students with a working knowledge of the statistical analysis to support more effective decision making as they pursue management positions in an increasingly complex and highly competitive field.

Discussions (4)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be 400 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 200 words.

Practice Problem Assignments (6)

The student will be required to complete 6 practice problems over the duration of the course. The instructor will assign each practice problem unique to the corresponding module’s content and will include a numeric component and written component. The numeric component will be completed in Microsoft Excel and the written component will be completed in Microsoft Word.

Quizzes (6)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module: Weeks. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 10 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 1-hour time limit.
