Course Description

Covers the legal concepts, principles, and procedures behind contracts and contract law. Emphasis is placed on formation, interpretation, modification, and assignment of contracts with instruction on breach, remedies, and damages.

Rationale

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the basics of contracts law. Along with other areas of law such as torts and property law, contracts law is foundational to the American legal system and the Western legal tradition. A good understanding of the law governing contracts is essential for the paralegal professional.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided topic for each Discussion. Each thread is to be 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 150 words.
