Nursing Comprehensive Exam – NURS 980

Course Description

A comprehensive examination must be taken no earlier than completion of the course requirements for the program of study. The comprehensive examinations must be successfully completed prior to submission to the dissertation planning.

Course Assignment

Comprehensive Exam Assignment

The examination consists of 4 questions that must be completed. The student must receive a passing grade on all questions. The responses will be blinded and graded by a faculty review committee and a grade of pass or fail will be assigned. A passing grade is required for all 4 questions in order to successfully complete the examination and advance in the PhD program. The student will receive his or her questions via email through the email function NURS 980 in Module/Week 1 of the course. The student will submit his or her responses within the NURS 980 course.  The comprehensive exam will be graded within 3 weeks of submission. The Chairperson of the Comprehensive Examination Committee and the Director of the PhD in Nursing Education Program will notify the student through the NURS 980 course of the comprehensive examination results.

Dissertation Chair Pairing Form Assignment

The student is required to complete the Dissertation Chair Pairing Form.  The student will receive his or her dissertation chair upon successful completion of his or her Comprehensive Exam.

Institutional Review Board (IRB) Training Modules Assignment (11)

The student is required to complete 11 IRB training modules via the Collaborative Institutional Initiative Program (CITI). Once complete, submit your certificate of completion to the Quiz section in Module 4 for validation of completion along with the email screenshot validation.
