Course Description

This is the final course for doctoral candidates completing the doctoral thesis. Doctoral candidates will defend their thesis and finalize the thesis manuscript for publication.

Rationale

It is important that the doctoral student engage in research and present a capstone paper summarizing their research. The capstone thesis allows the student the opportunity to research and present a capstone paper. This final defense allows the faculty committee to confirm that the student has completed this project.

Measurable Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Conduct research to support the capstone thesis.
  2. Write the capstone thesis.
  3. Submit the capstone thesis to their faculty advisor and reader.
  4. Orally defend the capstone thesis to the faculty advisor and reader.
