Rationale
An important part of a master’s degree is the completion of a capstone project. Under the direction of a mentor, the master’s candidate completes a thesis/project manuscript, thesis/project defense, and final document submission.

Thesis/Project Submission: Proposal/Current Status Assignment
As the student moves through the process of preparing his or her capstone project or thesis, he or she will submit drafts to his or her committee for review. The student will submit his or her proposal or, if the proposal has already been approved by the student's committee, the most recent version of his or her thesis or project. The student's document will be reviewed by his or her thesis/project mentor.
Thesis/Project Submission: Progress Check Assignment (8)
The student will submit the most recent version of his or her thesis or project. The thesis/project will be reviewed by the student's thesis/project mentor for improvement over previous drafts. The document must show substantive improvement over each previous draft in relation to quality and quantity. Substantive improvement is defined as either quantitative improvement (word count, sources, etc.) or qualitative improvement (editing, revising, synthesizing, etc.).
Quiz: Master's Thesis Handbook Acknowledgment
This assignment is in the form of a Quiz and the will acknowledge that he or she has received access to the Master's Thesis Handbook. The quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 yes/no question, and have no time limit.
