Course Description
A comprehensive examination must be taken no earlier than completion of the course requirements for the program of study. The comprehensive examinations must be successfully completed prior to submission to the dissertation proposal.

The doctoral dissertation is the final academic requirement for this doctoral degree. This course is designed to confirm eligibility for candidacy.

Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate will be able to:
- Develop research questions and a corresponding research design to address a problem of practice.
- Identify appropriate sites and samples for the proposed study.
- Develop and describe data collection and data analysis procedures.
- Describe steps for increasing reliability and dependability in research.
- Discuss ethical considerations in research with human subjects.
- Write a viable methods chapter for an applied doctoral dissertation.
- Explain the steps in the dissertation process for Liberty University’s SOE Ed.D.
