Course Description

This course provides the requisite aircraft, simulator, and ground instruction training required to take the FAA Additional Category (Airplane Single Engine Land) and Instrument Airplane practical test. Students must already hold a valid FAA Commercial/Instrument Rotorcraft rating. During this course, students will complete the required training outlined in the applicable training course outline (TCO) under FAA 14CFR141 Appendix I and Appendix C. The student will be required to complete the following three FAA practical tests at the end of this course: Commercial Single Engine, Added-Instrument, and Commercial Multi Engine Add-On.

Flight training affiliate with a score of 5

Rationale

This course will instruct students who hold FAA Rotorcraft Certification and Ratings in corresponding fixed-wing flight coursework. The learning will prepare students to earn all Commercial single, multi-engine, and instrument certificates and ratings.

Measurable Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a satisfactory level of knowledge and flight skills proficiency to progress in the commercial and instrument training curriculum
  2. Discuss topics relevant to commercial pilot flight operations
  3. Analyze commercial pilot topics using relevant aviation resources
  4. Describe his/her biblical worldview as it relates to his/her role as an aviation professional

Course Assignment

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in Module/Week 1.

Cessna/King Schools Weekly Assignments (8)

Students will complete weekly assignments within the King Schools web-based course.

Quizzes (8)

During each module/week, the student will complete a quiz. Each quiz will consist of questions that pertain to content the student has studied throughout this course and have a 2-hour time limit. The student is allowed to use notes taken during course study. Only complete each quiz when prepared to do so. 

Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate Submission

In order to pass this class, the student must complete the Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate. Once complete, the student will submit either a copy of the Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate, the license/certificate (front and back), or a temporary certificate, if applicable. If a student has not completed the course and has not contacted the professor about an extension, he or she will receive 0 points for this assignment. 

Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate with Added-Instrument Rating Submission

In order to pass this class, students must complete your Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate with Added-Instrument Rating. Once complete, students must submit either a copy of your Fixed Wing Commercial Certificate with Added-Instrument Rating, the license/certificate (front and back), or temporary certificate, if applicable. If the student has not completed the course and has not contacted the professor about an extension, they will receive 0 points for this assignment.
