Course Description

An internship is designed to allow upper level students to experience the professional world while they are still involved in their academic training. This provides them with both an understanding of the relationship of their academic preparation to their career aspirations and the demands that will be placed upon them in the professional world. (Formerly "Internship")

For information regarding prerequisites for this course, please refer to the Academic Course Catalog.

Rationale

An internship is intended to be an individual experience, allowing students to work in an organization/company and apply skills that have been learned throughout their academic training. The internship presents students with the opportunity for a “hands-on” approach. Successful completion of an internship may provide students with a direct or indirect route to obtaining a full-time position pertaining to their professional field.
