More students than ever before are attending school online. Liberty University Online Academy is a prime example of this societal shift toward virtual learning. LUOA has seen an impressive 250 percent rise in applications since last fall, and now serves more than 14,500 students.

LUOA is in a class by itself when it comes to what it offers online students. LUOA also successfully provides its curriculum to affiliate partners who engage students in on-site learning environments. Yet, LUOA is not the only school experiencing an increased demand for online learning programs.

“More than 50 percent of U.S., K-12 students are now attending virtual-only schools across the US, according to the most recent audit by Burbio, a data service that measures school and community life across the U.S.,” PRWeb stated in a recent article.

This fact is no surprise to most students and their parents. The year 2020 brought many changes to the world of education. Yet, LUOA has been providing online learning and homeschooling services, with a solid foundation of Christian principles, since 2007. So, parents and students can rest assured with the knowledge that the LUOA curriculum is accredited and effective.  While so many other online schools are building their programs on the fly, LUOA has a history of success in online learning. LUOA was thoughtfully developed by experts in education and has stood up to the test of time.

The year 2021 presents a new normal for families and students who may have previously believed their only option was on-site learning. Yet, online learning remains the standard for the thousands of LUOA teachers, administrators, and students who have been working hard and succeeding in the virtual environment for more than a decade. Many educators and parents are starting to realize what LUOA has known for a long time: attending LUOA has its benefits. One of the most highly noted benefits of LUOA is the flexibility it provides students and their families.

FLEXIBILITY

Online learning with LUOA is flexible. The Shirley Journey describes the fact that online learning often creates space for more breaks throughout the day, leading to a student feeling less overwhelmed. Another benefit associated with the flexibility of online learning is sleep. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “insufficient sleep in adolescents…[is] an important issue that significantly affects the… academic success of our nation’s middle and high school students.”

Many students who attend in-person schools must wake up before the sun rises in order to make a long bus ride to school, where they spend all day, often going to extracurriculars until after the sun sets. They are then expected to complete hours of homework. LUOA saves students time on their commute. Attending school online also provides students with the ability to enjoy a healthier diet, particularly if they suffer from any food allergies. By preparing their meals with fresh ingredients from their home kitchens, students don’t have to rely on a sandwich in a bag or frozen school lunch for nutrition. A flexible schedule also means students can get up and stretch, go for a walk, and get outside to be active. The flexibility of virtual learning can make way for healthier lifestyles in students by increasing physical activity, time outdoors, and improved sleep patternswhich relieves stress.

As many educational institutions continue to hastily rush to keep up with the demand for online learning, Liberty University Online Academy has already perfected its established formula for success. If you would like to check out the programs we offer or how we work, please visit our website.
