Liberty faculty member performs at workshop

Dr. Kevin Chiarizzio, Liberty University’s associate professor of music, brass and music education, was a featured performer last week at one of the largest events in the world for trombonists. The Eastern Trombone Workshop (ETW), sponsored by the U.S. Army Band, is held at Brucker Hall — the band’s state-of-the-art performance center —located in historic Fort Myer, Va., across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

The ETW draws prominent musicians from major orchestras, symphonies and opera companies as well as recording artists, teachers and outstanding college students. The workshop’s mission is to give students, performers and educators an opportunity to meet and share ideas, talents, and opinions about the world of trombone. ETW regularly hosts participants throughout the nation and abroad.
